the chapter one of a story I decided against continuing...I am still writing the first chapter of my other story: Shoot For Stars^^ I hope you like it!
May be a tad bit bloody or morbid..
Chapter 1 The Optimistic Vampire
It was a cold, dreary night in England. The sky poured rain intensely, as it usually did in these parts. The sky was a dreary dark blue in color, with a tad bit of a gloomy grey. Not many people were outside in this weather, most inside one of the local bars.
Footsteps can be heard among the pitter-patter of torrential down pouring, coming steadily closer and closer to the Mongoose Bar in Wales. The Mongoose bar was a favorite among humans, and some vampires.
The door to the bar opens up slightly, and a small, slim mysterious character covered via hood, edges through the door. The figure was short and a bit slim, and had a way about his or herself that gave it away to the other men sitting away from the bar.
Recognizing the short creature at once, complete silence envelops the bar. The figure shrugs and walks over to the table and sits down at the bar.
“One very small shot of Tequila please, and thank you.” The figure asks. The bartender who was wiping the glasses at the time puts up his right eyebrow in doubt. “Hey, hey, I don’t think you’re even old enough to be in here.” The figure takes off her hood and reveals herself to be Samin Edogawa, nicknamed the optimistic vampire.
“Well? Where’s meh tequila?” Samin asks, emphasizing my with a meh sound. “Oh, oh right. I’m on it Samin.” Samin slides 6 pounds over to the bartender. “Eh? But Th-...” The bartender starts to say, before Samin interrupts his speech. “Shut up, Dasanashi-kun!” She whispers lowly.
The bartender nods and hands her the drink. “Samin, have you heard the news?” Samin nodded her head twice, and smiled brightly, “Yep! That menace got what was comin to im!” Says Samin in a true English accent.
The bartender shakes his head, pulling a piece of crumpled parchment out of his pockets. “You wont be so happy anytime soon, Samin.” He turned the paper to face her.
IT STATED:
BE WARNED!
We have noticed that over the years, the number of vampires has increased much, and so has the death toll of humans being killed by vicious vampires.
The European Haden Government has hereby decreed that the vampires are creatures too dangerous to be left alive.
We are offering bounty rewards for those who kill the wretched vampires.
The largest bounty is on one of England’s most well known vampire, Edogawa Samin. She is also nicknamed the Optimistic Vampire, so beware. She uses your fury against you.
Thank you,
The European Haden
Samin stared at this notice and looked at the mug shot they had put up of her. They had made many mistakes, though.
In her seat, she starts to chuckle, then bursts out laughing. “What idiots! You can tell full well that that ain’t me! They even got the eye color wrong!” Samin says, as if nothing was wrong.
The rest of the bar had been listening to the conversation, and were waiting for Samin to be drunk, since that would leave an opening.
The advancement of them getting up to go over and slaughter her was an extreme mistake. She had tricked them pretty well. She bought 1 shot of tequila, yet payed for three to trick the dimwitted.
Edging closer, and closer, the men started to unsheathe their weaponry and attack. Suddenly, the men start to swing backwards, some with guns, and slashed fiercely and elegantly at Samin.
Clang
The swords hit nothing but the dull black leather of the seat Samin was sitting in. Appearing behind them Samin smiled and said, “That was not the best idea, now was it?” She sarcastically asks.
The bartender chuckles as the men swing at Samin again, and again, yet she just dodges as though they were nothing but blades of grass.
“You fools, Samin’s too quick for ya’ll… You ain’t gonna kill her, that’s for sure.” The bartender comments, as Samin flips backwards and lands on a table.
One of the men, around age 42-45, points his gun right at the bartender. Shocked, the bartender, Dasanashi backed into the wall, and his eyes went wide with fright. “You helped that atheist monster, didn’t you? She ‘ain’t’ gonna save you, ya know. That’s what kind of a monster she really is.” The 43-year-old man said, mocking Dasanashi’s accent.
“Too late to intervene, Miss Optimistic…” he says, about to pull the trigger.
Click
The man focused hard on hitting the right spot, as another was holding Samin up.
Click
Another second passes, tension rises as the shot is about to be fired and Samin can’t do anything to help her friend.
Boom
Confusion arises, clouding all judgments.
Bang!
Searing pain, undeniable death consequences. Relief, loss, and death are apart of life that vampires know a tad bit too much about.
The man was hit in the square of the stomach, since he turned to kill Samin first, yet she had freed herself and pulled the trigger of her own gun. He had fallen to his knees, clutching his stomach extremely tight and coughing up blood.
“Why you son…” Samin silences him with another bullet to the head, saying, “Be silent.” And looking up into the crowd of armed men.
“If any of you EVER try to harm a companion ever, I will without mercy, kill all of you.”
